The delegation, led by DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara and TESDA Secretary Francisco "Kiko" Benitez, engaged with Australian education leaders to explore new ways to enhance learning and employability for Filipino students.

One of the key objectives of this visit was to strengthen policies that align secondary education, vocational training, and workforce readiness. By drawing insights from Australia’s well-established TAFE (Technical and Further Education) institutions, the delegation aims to enhance technical-vocational pathways, ensuring Filipino students acquire globally competitive skills. 

Australia’s Ongoing Support for Philippine Education 

A crucial aspect of the discussions was Australia’s continued commitment to advancing Philippine education. Dr. Moya Collett, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, reaffirmed Australia’s support through teacher training programs, curriculum development, and institutional collaborations. These efforts highlight a shared vision of equipping Filipino students with industry-relevant knowledge and experience.
